About Us
Energy Development Oman SAOC is a closed Omani joint stock company 100% owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman. The main activities of the Company, which was incorporated in December 2020 by Royal Decree No. 128/2020, include receiving oil and gas revenues, paying the annual capital and operating costs of production, developing, expanding the energy sector, and pumping more investments to enhance the financial and economic returns of the Sultanate. EDO seeks to achieve a set of main goals, the most important of which are applying international practices in managing and developing national wealth, raising the efficiency of oil and gas sector management, supporting Government plans to reduce production costs, increasing the volume of economic activity, enhancing ICV of oil activities, and excluding oil and gas expenses of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) from the state’s general budget, achieving financial independence to ensure the financing of its projects independently to reflect the real value of the oil and gas sector, and improving the financial performance indicators of the Sultanate of Oman.

About Us
Energy Development Oman was established in December 2020 by Royal Decree (2020/128) to focus on realizing efficiencies and pursuing new growth opportunities in Oman’s energy sector. The company’s stated vision is to be a world-class partner for growth while driving a sustainable energy future. The company works on the development of energy and alternative energy sector in line with Oman 2040 vision. EDO owns 60% of block 6 Oil Concession, 100% of Block 6 Non-associated Gas Concession, and 100% of Hydrogen Oman LLC.

CEO's Message
At Energy Development Oman (EDO), we identify investment opportunities in the energy sector to maximize our financial returns. We work with various Government and private agencies to create a conducive business environment for foreign investments and also support small and medium enterprises (SMEs). EDO's principles and values promote transparency, mutual trust and a steadfast commitment to engage and effectively work with all stakeholders.

Between 2008 and 2010, he was Vice President for Northern Regions Production in Shell-Canada. Between 2010 and 2012, he becomes Director of the Northern Sector in Petroleum Development Oman. From 2012 to 2013, he was appointed as Executive President of Public Authority for Civil Aviation, after which he was appointed as Undersecretary of Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
His Excellency Eng. Salim Al-Aufi holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom in 1995.

Al Lamki started his career as an oilfield construction and maintenance mechanical works supervisor at Petroleum Development Oman. After that, he held managerial positions in sales, marketing, recruitment, regional management and oilfields in various countries at Schlumberger International Oilfield Services. He also held leadership positions at Mubadala Petroleum, most recently being its Chief Operating Officer.
Eng. Mazin bin Rashid Al-Lamki holds a Leadership Certificate in Senior Executive Leaders Program from IMD in Switzerland, as well as Mergers & Acquisitions and Finance programs from London Business School. In addition, he has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK.
